The Best Gifts

I came across a quote from an unknown author that I love. It is a reminder that at Christmastime the best gifts we can give cannot be bought in a store.

"This Christmas, mend a quarrel. Seek out a forgotten friend. Dismiss suspicion and replace it with trust. Write a letter. Give a soft answer. Encourage youth. Manifest your loyalty in word and deed. Keep a promise. Forgo a grudge. Forgive an enemy. Apologize. Try to understand. Examine your demands on others. Think first of someone else. Be kind. Be gentle. Laugh a little more. Express your gratitude. Welcome a stranger. Gladden the heart of a child. Take pleasure in the beauty and wonder of the earth. Speak your love and then speak it again."

OK, fine...I forgive you!!! Just kidding, we don't fight! Thanks for the great reminder, though.

I can't think of a single disagreement between us ever. Can you?

What a great quote. It is so easy (at least for me)to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the season and not take time for the important and truly meaningful things that make up the Christmas holiday. Now if we could just get that point across to our children AND make it stick.

Thanks for the reminder to "give a soft answer". It is really hard for me not to get crazy with the kids during this season . . .

The choir today was so cute. Braden's smile was priceless! Thanks for giving the kids that opportunity.

Bert-

Love the blog, especially the music!
I'm a little offended though. I am not on your family and "friends" list! How can that be? Ya think ya know someone....
